Violating Health Protocols Because There Is A Single Organ, Wedding Celebration In Sukabumi Is Dissolved

SUKABUMI - The Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 in Cikakak District, Sukabumi Regency, West Java, together with the police, broke up the wedding party of a resident of Ranji Village.

The celebration was disbanded for violating health protocols and circulars related to efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

"This dissolution is because the wedding party which was held in Ridogalih Village, Cikakak District was without permission and violated or did not comply with health protocols", said Cikakak Police Chief Iptu Nandang Herawan, in Sukabumi, quoted by Antara, Friday, June 18.

Monitoring at the location, the wedding party that was held also provided single organ entertainment, thus inviting the attention of residents to gather.

After receiving a report that a wedding party was equipped with entertainment, the police along with the COVID-19 task force immediately headed to the location.

At the location, the officers immediately appealed to the wedding party organizers to end the event and gave a firm warning not to continue. In addition, his party asked residents who had gathered to disperse to anticipate the spread of the deadly virus.

According to him, the decisive step taken by his party by disbanding the wedding party was by the Sukabumi Regency COVID-19 Task Force Circular regarding efforts to prevent the spread of COVID-19.

There are three points in the circular letter, one of which is related to the prohibition of activities that invite crowds, such as weddings, farewells or promotions, and other events that have the potential to gather masses.

As at weddings, the potential for COVID-19 transmission is high, in addition to inviting many residents to attend, also when guests and the bride and groom will remove their masks, so that's when the potential for the spread of the virus that first spread in Wuhan, China is potential.

"We also brought the owner of the wedding party to the Cikakak Police Headquarters for questioning, and if guilty, sanctions or punishments will be given by applicable regulations", he said.

Previously, the Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling COVID-19 also dismissed a class promotion event that was held at one of the Madrasa Diniyah in the Palabuhanratu District, despite protests from the parents of students, but the officers did not budge and asked the committee to immediately dissolve the event and stop all activities.
