COVID-19 Cases In Jakarta Set New Record, Anies Holds Disciplinary Operations, Crowds Will Be Actioned
JAKARTA - Metro Jaya Police, Military Command Jaya, and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government held a tightening ceremony for the implementation of micro-scale community activity restrictions (PPKM). In the apel (ceremony), it was decided to take action and discipline all activities that cause crowds.
DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan said this discipline was the result of the increasing number of positive cases over the past few days.
"To all the ranks present here, the Jaya Regional Police, the Metro Jaya Police, we all took to the field, including the ranks of the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government. Tonight we will carry out disciplinary operations without compromise", said Anies at Silang Monas, Friday, June 18.
In this discipline, Anies continued all activities that have the potential to cause crowds must stop at 21.00 WIB. Otherwise, the officers will take immediate action.
"All activities must stop at 9 p.m. There are no exceptions and remind the public that the enforcement of this rule is not only for enforcing regulations but reminding all that this is to protect you", said Anies.
Anies also said that this activity is to protect all people. Moreover, to avoid the increasingly massive spread of COVID-19.
"This is to protect all of us. Obeying is respecting. Respecting others, the lives of others. Therefore, everyone can be sure that the task entrusted is the duty to protect fellow nation's children", said Anies.

DKI Jakarta recorded the addition of new cases of COVID-19 today. New cases of 4,737 are the most daily cases during the pandemic.
"24,812 PCR tests were carried out. Of these tests, 17,368 people were tested by PCR today to diagnose new cases with 4,737 positive results and 12,631 negative results", said the Head of Disease Prevention and Control of the DKI Jakarta Health Office, Dwi Oktavia statement, Friday, June 18.
The number of active cases in Jakarta increased by 2,173 cases, so the number of active cases to date is 24,511 people who are still undergoing isolation or treatment.
Meanwhile, to date, the accumulation of COVID-19 cases in Jakarta has reached 463,552 cases. Of the total number of positive cases, a total of 431,264 people were declared cured with a cure rate of 93.0 percent. Then there were 7,777 people died with a mortality rate of 1.7 percent.
"The positivity rate or the percentage of positive cases in the last week in Jakarta was 21.8 percent", he said.
