PAPUA - The West Papua Police ensured that the recruitment process to the selection of the National Police Officer for the Special Autonomy Affirmation Program (Otsus) or Bintara Noken 2021 in West Papua was carried out according to applicable procedures.

The Head of Public Relations of the West Papua Police, Kombes Adam Erwindi, said that the NCO Noken 2021 was participated by 2,633 sons and daughters of the Indigenous Papuan category or OAP. The entrance selection is at the physical test stage.

"Until now, the physical fitness test is in progress, followed by 2,633 participants consisting of 2,080 male participants and 553 female participants. They are all the best OAP," said Kombes Adam through a press release quoted by Antara, Friday, June 18.

Of the number of participants who registered, Kombes Adam confirmed that there were those who did not pass the second stage of the medical test because they had a history of illness. If the participant is still passed until education, it is at risk of being fatal or even causing death.

"Indeed, in the second stage of the medical test yesterday there were some who failed the test because they had a history of diseases such as heart disease and hepatitis. If forced to participate in education, it could cause death," said Adam Erwindi.

The Head of Public Relations further said that the selection of the NCO for the Otsus affirmation program was carried out transparently because it was also supervised by the Ombudsman, the Otsus Faction of the DPRP West Papua and the MRPB cultural institution.

"In the selection process, it is natural that there are failures because we are looking for the best OAP sons and daughters who are physically and mentally healthy," said Adam.

He appealed to all participants or their families who failed or did not pass, to ask the committee directly, or to complain to the PESAT SMS service (Quick Complaint Message) which had been prepared by the West Papua Police.

"West Papua Regional Police have also been open regarding public complaints, if there are complaints, they can be reported to the PESAT sms number (quick complaint message) 08123480110 or police service 110. Please complain according to facts and not slander."

The total number of registrants for the 2021 West Papua Police Special Autonomy affirmation program has been 4,449 people.

"While the number of chassis that will be received in this program is 1500 people, consisting of 1,400 male NCOs and 100 female NCOs," added the Head of Public Relations.
