In 2 Years, Kepri Kepri Records 10 Villages Involved In Village Fund Corruption
KEPRI - The Riau Islands High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati Kepri) noted that 10 villages in the local area were involved in cases of corruption in village funds within a period of 2 years (2019-2020). Unfortunately, the Attorney General's Office did not mention the details of the names of the villages.
"The ten villages are spread across five regencies throughout the Riau Islands Province," said Riau Islands Attorney General Agustian Sunaryo in Tanjungpinang, as reported by Antara, Thursday, June 17.
Agustian said all cases of corruption in village funds had permanent legal force. According to him, the problem of corruption in village funds is usually triggered by problems with the integrity of the Village Head and Village Apparatus who intentionally misappropriate funds.
He gave an example, village funds that should have been used for infrastructure development, were instead diverted for the personal needs of the Village Head or village officials. for example buying a private car and the like.
In addition, corruption in village funds is usually caused by a lack of knowledge and understanding of managing village funds, from the planning, implementation, to accountability stages.
"If this is more of an administrative problem. For example, the Village Head or Village Apparatus cannot make an accountability report for the use of village funds," said Agustian.
He continued, the Kepri Kejati encouraged each district to form an integrated team to oversee village funds involving the District Attorney's Office (Kejari) and the District Government (Pemkab).
The establishment of an integrated team aims to ensure that village fund management does not violate the rules and is in accordance with the needs of the village itself.
The integrated team will also map the potential for corruption in village funds that has been happening so far. Is this really because there is an element of intent or ignorance of the Village Head and Village Apparatus.
"Moreover, village funds per village are around Rp. 1 billion and quite large, while village human resources are limited to manage them. In the future the integrated team must assist how to manage village funds properly and correctly," said Agustian.
