There Are 204 COVID-19 Cases In A Day, Mayor Bima Arya: Bogor Situation Is Precarious

BOGOR - Mayor of Bogor, West Java, Bima Arya stated that Bogor City is in a critical situation regarding the transmission of COVID-19 and must be taken seriously, because in a day 204 positive cases of COVID-19 were confirmed.

"I received a report from the Health Office, today there are 204 positive cases of COVID-19. This is the highest during the COVID-19 pandemic since March last year," said Bima Arya in Bogor City, as quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 17.

According to Bima Arya, the previous highest data was 187 positive cases of COVID-19 in a day on Saturday, February 6. "After that, there were no more positive cases that exceeded 187 cases, let alone 200 cases. However, today there were 204 cases reported," he said.

The impact of the surge in COVID-19 cases is that the bed occupancy rate (BOR) for COVID-19 positive patients at referral hospitals also increases.

According to Bima Arya, on Thursday today the BOR of positive COVID-19 patients in hospitals reached 60 percent, even though two weeks ago it was still below 20 percent. Meanwhile, the Bogor City COVID-19 Isolation Center at the BPKP Training Center Building in Ciawi Bogor with a capacity of 100 beds is also full.

The current condition is considered critical and serious, so Bima Arya as the Head of the Bogor City COVID-19 Handling Task Force together with elements of the Regional Leadership Communication Forum (Forkopimda), agreed to take anticipatory steps.

These anticipatory steps are to remind all residents of Bogor City to comply with and implement health protocols. The business sector is also reminded to comply with health protocols, namely a maximum capacity of 50 percent and operating hours at night until 21.00 WIB.

According to Bima, the COVID-19 Handling Task Force will take firm action against individuals and institutions that violate health protocols and operating hours.

Bima also reminded all parties in the city of Bogor to avoid crowds. "Not doing activities that involve more than 10 people. If that happens, strict action will be taken," he said.

Then, traditional markets will also be subject to restrictions on operating hours, which will technically be announced by PD Pasar Pakuan Jaya.

According to Bima Arya, pedestrians on the one-way system path that circles the Bogor Botanical Gardens (KRB), will be closed on weekends, Saturdays and Sundays, and cannot be used by the public.
