Deputy Chief Of Police Affirms Actions For Obstacles To The Padang Pariaman-Pekanbaru Toll Road Project

PADANG - The West Sumatra (West Sumatra) Police will take action against the perpetrators of blocking the construction of the Padang Pariaman-Pekanbaru toll road. The construction of the toll road which was proclaimed by President Joko Widodo in February 2018 has not yet been completed.

West Sumatra Deputy Police Chief Brigadier General Edi Mardianto said that on the island of Sumatra, the construction of the toll road in West Sumatra is indeed very slow because only four kilometers have been completed.

"We need to find a solution together with the West Sumatra Provincial Government, Kajati, TNI and other policy makers," he said, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 17.

He said the West Sumatra Police strongly supports the acceleration of the construction of this toll road.

Regarding one of the obstacles that hinder the construction of the toll road, his party will examine in detail this land issue.

"If there really is a mafia, action will be taken," said Brigadier General Edi.

The Deputy Chief of Police said there are obstacles related to the toll road project, especially in the process of land problems in Padang, which is different from other regions.

"That is what we will discuss, so that we can solve it socially, in cooperation with the nagari government, ninik mamak. God willing, with a meeting we can complete it completely, although it is a bit late, we still have to solve this toll road construction problem," he continued.
