Fake Police Use National Police Member ID Cards And Fake Plates To Become Suspects
JAKARTA - Investigators from the Polda Metro Jaya have named a fake police officer with the initials AHH (35) as a suspect in the case of falsifying vehicle number plates and National Police membership cards (KTA).
"Yes, he is a suspect and has been detained," said the Head of Public Relations of the Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus at the Metro Jaya Police Headquarters, Jakarta, quoted by Antara, Thursday, June 17.
AHH was charged with Article 263 of the Criminal Code on Forgery of Letters with a maximum penalty of six years in prison.
Previously, personnel from the Traffic Directorate of Polda Metro Jaya arrested a man named AHH, a fake police officer who claimed to be serving in the Internal Security Bureau (Divpaminal) of the Propam Division of the National Police Headquarters.
Initially, the officers suspected that the driver of a four-wheeled vehicle using a fake police number plate B 2355 TKI was passing from Kuningan to Semanggi in lane three.
Because there were suspicions, officers from the Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya stopped the perpetrator's vehicle, which had its address at Bidara Cina, Jatinegara, East Jakarta.
When he wanted to be stopped, the driver issued a police identity and claimed to be a member of the police who served in the Paminal Bureau of the Propam Div at the National Police Headquarters.
Officers suspected that the perpetrator was using a false identity from the National Police and was taken to the Metro Jaya Regional Police for further investigation.
When questioned, he claimed to be a member of the National Police to be safe on the road. He also admitted that he bought the identity card for Rp. 2 million
In addition, AHH is subject to a fine for the use of fake vehicle plates. He was fined Rp. 500 thousand in accordance with Article 287 paragraph 1 of Law No. 22 of 2009 concerning Road Traffic and Transportation (LLAJ).
