KPU Determines Uncle Birin As Winner Of South Kalimantan Governor Election PSU, Witness Denny Indrayana Refuses To Sign
BANJARMASIN - The General Election Commission (KPU) of South Kalimantan has determined that the incumbent South Kalimantan gubernatorial candidate H Sahbirin Noor (Uncle Birin) defeated Denny Indrayana in the re-voting results (PSU) for the South Kalimantan governor election.
The South Kalimantan KPU decided at an open plenary meeting to recapitulate the results of the PSU at the provincial level at the G'sgn Hotel Banjarmasin, Thursday, June 17. Sahbirin Noor (Uncle Birin) who was paired with former Banjarmasin Mayor H Muhidin or abbreviated BirinMU won a total of 119,307 votes in PSU in seven sub-districts in three districts/cities.
Meanwhile, his rival, Denny Indrayana, who was paired with former Deputy Regent of Tanah Bumbu H Difriadi Derajat, abbreviated as H2D, won a total of 57,100 votes.
In accumulated votes at PSU on 9 June 2021 and voting on 9 December 2020, BirinMU received a total of 871,123 votes.
Meanwhile, H2D received a total of 831,178 votes. There is a difference of 39,945 votes from the total valid voters of 1,702,301 votes in 13 districts/cities.
The head of the South Kalimantan KPU, Sarmuji, stated that the results of this plenary meeting would immediately be reported to the RI KPU and the Constitutional Court.
"If there is no lawsuit to the Constitutional Court, then as soon as possible we will determine the pair of candidates for governor and deputy governor to be elected," he explained.
Meanwhile, at the time of signing the document for determining the results of the plenary meeting of the recapitulation of the results of the PSU for the provincial-level South Kalimantan gubernatorial election, the witness pair H2D still refused to sign.
The BirinMU witness team, H Akhmad Maulana expressed his infinite gratitude for the victory of his "champion" in this long democratic party.
He also expressed his gratitude to all the winning teams and BirinMU volunteers and the South Kalimantan community in general who have faithfully supported BirinMU.
"We don't need to celebrate this victory in a solemn manner, everything must be calm, until the governor and deputy governor are officially elected," he said.
