The Gedung Sate Cluster Goes Crazy, 143 People Positive For COVID-19 Including The West Java Regional Secretary

JAKARTA - The number of employees exposed to COVID-19 from the Gedung Sate Bandung cluster continues to grow and as of Thursday, 143 people have tested positive for COVID-19 from the cluster. Including the Regional Secretary (Sekda) of West Java, Setiawan Wangsaatmaja.

Sumasna said based on the results of tracking and testing carried out by the West Java Provincial Government as of Thursday, there were a total of 143 positive COVID-19 employees.

The 143 employees consist of 82 ASN, 27 non-ASN, 26 ASN families, three interns, two from interns' families, and four from non-ASN families.

Previously, the West Java Governor's Office Complex, Gedung Sate, Bandung, was closed again due to the increasing number of employees who tested positive for COVID-19 at the venue, which is currently 79 people.

"It's true that it was closed again until June 25, 2021. Already 79 people have tested positive, we are still carrying out tracing including this afternoon. If it was initially found, namely June 3, 2021, there were 31 positive COVID-19 employees, now the number has increased to 79 people," said Assistant General Administration at the Regional Secretariat of West Java Province, Dudi Sudrajat Abdurachim, when contacted by telephone, Wednesday, June 16.

According to Dudi, his party has issued Circular No. 103/KS.01/UM concerning the Implementation of Work From Home in the Regional Secretariat and BPKAD of West Java Province.

"Given the development of the COVID-19 pandemic situation within the Regional Secretariat and BPKAD of West Java Province, it is necessary to readjust the activities and work systems for employees within the Regional Secretariat and BPKAD of West Java Province," he said.

All employees exposed to COVID-19, said Dudi, are required to work from home or implement Work From Home (WFH).

The West Java Provincial Government also temporarily closed the use of Gedung Sate facilities, mosques, museums, canteens, the Office of the Bureau of Procurement of Goods and Services, the Office of the BUMD Bureau, Investment and Development Administration, as well as the Office of the Regional Financial and Asset Management Agency (BPKAD).

In the letter, it was stated that his party was optimizing the function of the COVID-19 Task Force that had been formed in each regional apparatus. All employees are required to report work activities and attendance through TRK and K-Mob, as the basis for calculating and providing TPP. This Circular is effective from 15 June to 25 June 2021.

The closure of Gedung Sate this time is stricter due to the previous period of restrictions.

For the presence of employees in the office or place of work in each Work Unit, there is still a maximum of 25 percent, except for structural officials who must remain present.

Employees at Gedung Sate can still avoid activities that are mass gathering of more than five people and therefore, activities can be carried out virtually but now, all are required by WFH.

If on June 3-9, mosques, museums, canteens, and the public area of Gedung Sate were closed, now the number of spaces that are closed is increasing.
