COVID-19 Update As Of June 17: 12,624 New Cases, Most In Jakarta
JAKARTA - The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) released the latest additional positive cases of COVID-19 as of today. A total of 130,829 specimens were examined today. As a result, there were 12,624 new positive cases of COVID-19.
"The total accumulation of positive cases since COVID-19 was discovered in Indonesia has reached 1,950,276 people and 125,303 active cases," said Ministry of Health data, Thursday, June 17.
Today's recovered cases increased by 7,350 cases, bringing the total to 1,771,220 recovered people. Then, positive confirmed cases who died increased by 277 people and a total of 52,753 people.
The province with the most new cases is DKI Jakarta with 4,144 cases and a total of 458,815 cases. Followed by West Java which has 2,800 new cases with a total of 337,664 cases. Central Java has 11,752 new cases and a total of 221,745 cases. Then, East Java has 722 new cases and a total of 161,385 cases.
The province with the most recovered cases today belongs to DKI Jakarta with an additional 1,870 recovered cases. Followed by West Java with an additional 1,096 recovered cases, Central Java with an additional 977 recovered cases, and Lampung with an additional 720 recovered cases.
There is one province that reported no new cases today, namely Gorontalo. In addition, the number of specimens that have been examined using RT-PCR, TCM, and antigens has reached 18,305,810.
"Positive results per number of specimens examined or this week's positivity rate of 20.22 percent," he wrote.
The number of people suspected of contracting COVID-19 or who are currently categorized as suspected cases, was recorded at 110,472 people. Currently, 510 districts/cities from 34 provinces have COVID-19 cases.
Furthermore, currently there are 21,999,256 people who have received the first dose of COVID-19 vaccination and 11,963,130 vaccinations for the second dose. Meanwhile, the total target of vaccination stages 1 and 2 reached 40,349,049 people.
