Police Reveal Circulation Of 89 Kg Of Shabu In Aceh-North Sumatra, 2 Long-barreled Guns Confiscated
MEDAN - North Sumatra Police revealed drug trafficking in North Sumatra and Aceh. The police seized a total of 89 kg of crystal methamphetamine, 48,418 pills of ecstasy and two long-barreled firearms.
The Head of Public Relations of the North Sumatra Police, Kombes Hadi Wahyudi, said that the disclosure of this case was carried out in two different areas. Initially the police arrested a suspect with the initials SB, in Sunggal District, Deli Serdang Regency, Tuesday, June 8.
From the suspect SB confiscated methamphetamine, weighing 20 kg. From SB's statement, the police carried out developments on two other suspects, namely M and MF in East Aceh.
"Officers (then) drove to Matang Pelawi Hamlet, Peurlak District, Regency, East Aceh and arrested suspects M and MF on Tuesday, June 15 at around 17.00 WIB. Both were arrested at MF's house," said Kombes Hadi.
From this arrest, the police found 69 kg of crystal methamphetamine and packages containing 48,418 ecstasy pills.
"Then also confiscated 1 long-barreled AK 47 weapon and 1 M16 long-barreled weapon as well as 150 rounds of ammunition and 2 HP units," he said.
"They were arrested without a fight, while the methamphetamine seized from the three suspects was 89 kg," he added.
Regarding gun ownership, Hadi said, initially suspect M was contacted by JH (fugitive) via WhatsApp. JH was previously known as M while working in Malaysia.
JH then asked M to take the two weapons in the Sungai Hiu area, Simpang Opak Tamiang.
"The weapon (to) be used to escort when picking up narcotics (three days later)," said Kombes Hadi.
After M's weapons were taken, JH contacted M three days later to take methamphetamine and ecstasy pills at Jalinsum Medan-Banda Aceh, to people he did not know. He was promised a salary of Rp. 20 million.
Furthermore, on Monday, June 14, suspect M picked up the drugs and stored them at MF's house. Hadi also explained that after being arrested the three suspects confessed to being couriers.
Currently they are still undergoing examination at the North Sumatra Police Headquarters.
"The three suspects have been detained at the Poldasu Narcotics Directorate. While (the police) are hunting for JH, who is said to be the drug owner," said Kombes Hadi.
