Aceh Police Arrest 32 Thugs, Confiscated Millions Of Rupiah

BANDA ACEH - Aceh Police arrested 32 suspected thuggery perpetrators. Millions of rupiah were confiscated.

"There was evidence that was confiscated including one unit of four-wheeled vehicle, one unit of two-wheeled vehicle, four units of mobile phones, two video recordings, one sharp weapon, 195 receipts, and more than Rp. Aceh Regional Police Kombes Winardy.

Kombes Winardy said the action against the perpetrators of thuggery was a follow-up to the direction of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo.

Based on this instruction, the Aceh Police through the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation took action against thuggery in 15 locations within the jurisdiction of the Aceh Regional Police.

The prosecution in 15 locations was spread across eight points in Banda Aceh City, two points each in Lhokseumawe City, Subulussalam City, and Aceh Tamiang District, and one point in Aceh Barat District.

"Currently, the alleged perpetrators are under investigation. There are also suspected perpetrators who are fostered and resolved by restorative justice, depending on the extent of the involvement," said Kombes Winardy.

He said that he will continue to take action to prevent thuggery that is troubling the community. Therefore, the public is advised to report to the police if there is thuggery.

"Several locations suspected of rampant thuggery include markets, crowded places, loading and unloading places, tourist attractions, terminals, ports, and others," said Kombes Winardy.
