4 Members Of The Surabaya DPRD Heal, 5 Legislators Still Infected With COVID-19

SURABAYA - Deputy Chairperson of the Surabaya City DPRD, Reni Astuti, said five of the nine members were still infected with COVID-19. Meanwhile, four other DPRD members have been declared medically cured from COVID-19.

"But the five developments continue to improve gradually," said Reni, confirmed on Wednesday, June 16.

But the PKS politician was reluctant to reveal the identities of the five members of the Surabaya DPRD who are still positive for COVID-19, including the Chairman of the Surabaya City DPRD Adi Sutarwijono, who was exposed to COVID-19. He also kept the four members who had been confirmed to be cured a secret.

"I have communicated directly with the person concerned. But if I want to mention the name, I must ask the person concerned. What is clear is that his condition continues to improve," he said.

Even though the condition of the five people is improving, according to Reni, they must continue to struggle to recover from COVID-19. So they can return to their normal activities.

"So far, our fellow council members have supported each other and prayed for each other so that all council members who were exposed to get well soon," he said.

It was previously reported that nine members of the Surabaya City DPRD were infected with COVID-19, after returning from a pilgrimage to Bung Karno's grave in Blitar.

Among them, the Chairman of the Surabaya City DPRD Adi Sutarwijono, Siti Maryam, and Dyah Katarina, a member of Commission D, Budi Leksono, the Secretary of Commission A, and Anas Karno, Deputy Chair of Commission B.
