Allegedly Exploitation Of 17 Minors, NTT Police Will Check Owners Of Nightclubs
NTT - Ditreskrimum Polda NTT found 17 minors employed in a number of nightclubs in Maumere, Sikka Regency. Upon this finding the owner will be investigated.
The Head of Public Relations of the NTT Police, Kombes Rishian K Budhiaswanto said that employing underage children includes exploitation of children.
These children were found when the police carried out a night operation at the nightclub in Maumere on Tuesday night, June 15 yesterday.
"Previously in the examination, only 16 children were found to be underage, but when investigated more deeply, it turned out that the number had increased by one so that it became 17 minors who work in a number of nightclubs in Maumere," Krisna explained as quoted by Antara.
The former head of the North Central Timor Police said that so far, raids have often been carried out at nightclubs. Armed with reports and information from residents, the police targeted four locations for nightclubs.
A number of locations for night entertainment are listed, including L, S, B, and SH nightclubs. From a number of locations, there are 25 workers at night entertainment venues.
"From that number, initially 16 people were confirmed to be underage, but after investigation it turned out that there were 17 people," he said.
