Quoting ICW Data Compare Performance With AGO, Arsul Sani Protested By KPK: The Data Is Very Wrong!

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) protested and called the data submitted by member of Commission III of the DPR RI Arsul Sani to compare his performance with the Attorney General's Office wrong.

The data from Indonesia Corruption Watch (ICW) has even been corrected by the anti-corruption commission.

"The data that ICW submitted to the public included the number of cases handled by the KPK in 2020 which were very wrong and we have corrected them," Acting KPK Spokesperson for Enforcement Affairs Ali Fikri told reporters, Tuesday, June 15.

This protest arose after Arsul quoted ICW data during a working meeting with the Attorney General's Office on Monday, June 14 yesterday at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Central Jakarta.

At that time, the United Development Party (PPP) politician said the Adhyaksa Corps tried corruption cases with a loss value of IDR 56.7 trillion in 2020, while the KPK was less at IDR 114.8 billion.

Returning to Ali, he detailed that there were a number of corruption cases handled by his party with a large amount of state losses.

These include allegations of corruption in the procurement of road infrastructure in Bengkalis with state losses reaching Rp475 billion, allegations of corruption at PT Dirgantara Indonesia around Rp315 billion, and allegations of corruption at PT Waskita around Rp202 billion.

"Several other cases are currently still being resolved by the KPK, both at the investigation and trial stages," he said.

In addition, he also said that the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) managed to deposit the loot from corruption crimes worth Rp.293.9 billion throughout 2020. The money has already entered the state treasury.

"As for the real work of the KPK as an effort to save potential state losses through the restoration of control and optimization of state and local government assets in 2020, worth IDR 592.4 trillion," said Ali.

Furthermore, he said the data had been published at the end of December 2020. "KPK certainly appreciates the handling of cases by other law enforcement officers, both the attorney general and the Indonesian police in efforts to eradicate corruption," said Ali.

"We realize that eradicating corruption is not only the task of the KPK but also synergy between law enforcement and the role and support of the community is needed," he concluded
