Germany Considered Unseeded Against France, Neuer: We Will Make The Opponent Uncomfortable
JAKARTA - The German national team does not want to be considered a non-seed against France in their first match in Group F Euro 2020 at the Allianz Arena Stadium, Munich, Germany, Tuesday local time (Wednesday WIB).
This was emphasized by Germany goalkeeper and captain, Manuel Neuer, who admitted they respect France's achievements in recent years but that does not mean the Panzers are unseeded.
While Germany endured several years of disappointment, France finished runners-up at Euro 2016 and won the 2018 World Cup.

"We know France have been quite successful in recent years. But we are still a very good team, and will make opponents uncomfortable," he said.
"We respect them, but we don't see ourselves as an unseeded team. We want to win on our own ground in Munich," he added.
The failure to refresh the German national team forced coach Joachim Loew to recall Thomas Mueller and Mats Hummels after two years of absence.
Euro 2016 may be Germany's best competitive achievement after being eliminated by France in the semifinals, before then they were defending champions and stopped in the 2018 World Cup group stage.
️ @Manuel_Neuer: "We know that we owe it to the fans a little bit and we'll try to entertain them with our style of play. We need all the support, both from home and here in the stadium."#DieMannschaft # EURO2020 #GER pic.twitter.com/T2gzXckzfI

"It was important for us to start with a successful result. We owe it to the fans after our last tournament," Neuer said.
"Hopefully our game can spark their joy and obviously we need their full support," he concluded.
Germany is in Group F which is considered a hell group, because apart from containing world champions France, they also have to face the defending champions of Euro Portugal.
