Whether It's Good News Or Bad News, Robert Smith Says The Cure's New Album Could Be The Last
JAKARTA - Many music listeners miss The Cure's new work. That hope will soon come true because they are reportedly working on a new album.
Recently, Robert Smith, the frontman of The Cure, spoke about the process of the album sounding emotional.
“This is 10 years of life condensed into a few intense hours. And I don't think we (The Cure) can make it like this. I definitely can't do this again," Smith told The Sunday Times on Monday, June 14.
"I found it harder to finish the lyrics for The Cure compared to others. We recorded 20s of songs and I got nothing. I mean, I wrote a lot but every time I look at it again, I think "This is rubbish"
Smith said he was working on a new album The Cure during 2020 after last releasing 4:13 Dream in 2008.
Through the same interview, Smith also answered opinions about his feud with Morrissey in the 80s.
"I don't really like The Smiths. They were rivals. But more than that, I have no contact with them. I don't hate them - I don't know them either," he said.
In addition to focusing on The Cure, Robert Smith is currently focusing on solo promotions with CHVRCHES for the song How Not To Drown.
