Police Arrest Dozens Of Thugs Who Troubled Medan Residents

MEDAN - The Brimob Unit of the North Sumatra Police (Polda Sumut) intensified operations to control thuggery in the Medan City area. This operation to eradicate thugs follows the instructions of the National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo regarding the crackdown on thuggery and extortion

In carrying out the control of the thugs, Brimob personnel were assisted by personnel from the Directorate of General Crime and the Directorate of Sabhara of the North Sumatra Police by targeting a number of locations, namely Jalan Sisingamangaraja Medan, Jalan Pancing, and Jalan Cemara.

Then, Jalan Captain Sumarsono, Jalan Ngumban Surbakti, Jalan AH Nasution, and around Mitra Sejati Hospital.

"Based on the results of the operation, the joint team has secured dozens of people who were proven to have committed extortion. They are currently being recorded by our officers," said Dansat Brimob, North Sumatra Police, Kombes Suheru, quoted by Antara, Monday, June 14.

Through the thuggery and extortion operations, he hopes to provide a sense of security and comfort to the community in carrying out their activities.

"The public does not need to worry about acts of thuggery. The police now have the Dumas Presisi application and the 110 hotline service. We will provide maximum assistance to the residents of North Sumatra," he continued.
