National Police Chief Says Jakarta And West Java Are Targets For Spreading 1.1 Tons Of Shabu
JAKARTA - The National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo said the suspects planned to distribute 1.1 tons of crystal methamphetamine to two regions. One of them is to Jakarta.
"The plan is circulated for the Jakarta area and the West Java region," General Sigit told reporters, Monday, June 14.
However, Sigit has not been able to describe the exact location of the distribution of the methamphetamine. He only said that his party was still developing the case.
The reason, there are still some perpetrators who are on the run. From the preliminary examination, the total number of perpetrators was 11 people. Meanwhile, only 7 perpetrators have been arrested so far.
"Because there are still some perpetrators who are still our DPO," said the National Police Chief.
"Well, regarding further development, of course, it will be clearer when all the perpetrators have been caught," he continued.
As previously reported, the Polda Metro Jaya and Polres Metro Jakarta Pusat thwarted efforts to distribute 1.1 tons of methamphetamine by international networks. In this case, the perpetrators cooperated with the inmates at the Cilegon Correctional Institution.
"Revealing the drug transactions of the Middle East network, this time they are collaborating with both Indonesian and foreign citizens who are prisoners in prisons in Cilegon," said Sigit.
In addition, said Sigit, in this case his party has named seven suspects. Two of them are foreign nationals and the rest are Indonesian citizens.
"Five Indonesian citizens with the initials MR, AH, HS, NB and EK as well as two citizens from Nigeria, CSN and OJN. According to the investigation, these items came from the Middle East and Africa," said the National Police Chief.
