Tanjung Priok Police Criminal Investigation Unit Successfully Encircled a Knife-Wielding Curanmor Perpetrator in the Sunter Area
JAKARTA - The Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Police managed to arrest a perpetrator of a sharp-edged curanmor around Jalan Sunter Kemayoran, RT 03/05, Sunter Jaya, Tanjung Priok, North Jakarta, Sunday, August 16, 2026.
The perpetrator is known as AR (29) a resident of Tanjung Priok. He was determined to carry out his actions with 3 of his friends who are still at large.
The perpetrator with the initials AR and his accomplices were going to steal a motorcycle in front of the martabak djuara shop, Jalan Sunter Kemayoran, Tanjung Priok.
"We from the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Police managed to arrest a man who attempted to commit a robbery using a sharp weapon," said the Head of the Criminal Investigation Unit of the Tanjung Priok Police, AKP Handam Samudro when confirmed.
The arrest of the perpetrator began with a report from the community regarding the incident.
"Residents also contacted the 110 call center, then the Rapid Response Unit (URC) team of the Tanjung Priok Police Criminal Investigation Unit moved to the location," he said.
Then the members of the Tanjung Priok Police Criminal Investigation Unit immediately headed to the scene.
"Residents chased the perpetrators and one of them fell from the motorcycle. We immediately secured the perpetrators from the mob's rampage," he said.
The AR perpetrator was secured along with a number of evidence in the form of a bag containing various equipment to carry out the theft.
"The evidence seized was 1 unit of a sickle, 1 unit of a celurit, a wrench, a cutting pliers, a screwdriver, a letter T key and a bag," he said.
Meanwhile, based on the results of the crime scene investigation, the perpetrators of the theft numbered 4 people. One of them with the initials AR was arrested while in action, while the other 3 managed to escape.
For further processing, the perpetrators and evidence were taken to the Tanjung Priok Police, North Jakarta.
"We are still developing the case to hunt down other perpetrators," said the investigator.
