Logistics Delivery to Cross-Sector Collaboration, the Government is Moving Quickly to Handle Post-Earthquake in NTT
JAKARTA - The government continues to encourage the acceleration of post-earthquake handling in a number of affected areas in East Nusa Tenggara Province (NTT). The Cabinet Secretary (Seskab) Teddy Indra Wijaya, in his written statement on Sunday, August 16, 2026, said that as of Saturday (15/8) evening, the government had sent a total of 27 tons of logistics to the disaster-affected areas.
"This is the last batch of Saturday flights. Of the total 27 tons of logistics, it has been sent to NTT with various batches of Hercules flights on that day," said the Secretary of the Cabinet Teddy in a written statement.
In addition to logistics delivery, the Presidential Secretariat, Teddy, said that President Prabowo Subianto continued to encourage cross-sectoral cooperation to ensure that post-earthquake handling runs quickly and accurately. The President has also ordered the relevant parties to see the conditions at the disaster site.
"President Prabowo has also ordered the Coordinating Minister for Human Development and Culture, the Minister of Home Affairs, the Minister of PU, the Head of BNPB, and the Head of Basarnas and the Minister of Health and the Minister of Social Affairs, as well as PLN, Pertamina, and Telkom elements, to immediately fly to NTT on the day of the incident to ensure that the handling is as fast and targeted as possible," wrote the Seskab Teddy.
The Secretary of State, Teddy, also emphasized the government's commitment to accelerating post-earthquake handling by deploying TNI and Polri personnel to assist the recovery and evacuation process in the affected areas.
"In addition, immediately on the day of the incident, the TNI-Polri has deployed more than 3,500 TNI-Polri soldiers to various areas in Flores on Saturday, spread to Manggarai, Maumere, Flores, and other affected areas in NTT," he concluded.
