COVID-19 Goes Crazy In Depok , Deputy Mayor Urges Residents Not To Be Careless

JAKARTA - Deputy Mayor of Depok, Imam Budi Hartono, appealed to residents not to be careless due to the increasing number of COVID-19 cases in recent days.

"For your cooperation, residents are advised to continue to apply strict health protocols, namely wearing masks, washing hands and maintaining distance and avoiding crowds", said Imam Budi Hartono in Depok, as reported by Antara, Monday, June 14.

Imam said that in the last two days the cases of residents who were confirmed positive for COVID-19 in Depok increased from 225 people on Saturday, June 12, to 350 people on Sunday, June 13.

Likewise, the use of the ICU in hospitals has reached 64 percent, and self-isolation places have been filled by 60 percent. Seeing the trend, the use of ICU and self-isolation rooms is increasing.

"Depok is experiencing an increase in COVID-19 cases, please let us all take care of each other, taking care of ourselves will certainly take care of the family. Hopefully, the residents and the city of Depok will avoid the widespread spread of COVID-19", he said

Imam gave his appreciation to RT/RW (Citizens Association), village and subdistrict heads, TNI, and Police who were actively involved in moving local communities' to be tough on COVID-19 alert and continue to apply health protocol.

Imam explained that the steps taken by the Depok City Government to avoid the spread of COVID-19 were carrying out the Justice operation with the police chief, Military District Command, Transportation Service, Civil Service Police Unit, and Firefighters with a total of 112 personnel, which was carried out on Sunday, June 13 night.

"We remind residents to disperse, not to gather and we will continue to do this considering the high number of COVID-19 cases", he said.

Meanwhile, based on data from the Depok City COVID-19 Task Force for the Acceleration of Handling, there was a fairly high increase in positive confirmed cases of COVID-19, on Sunday, June 13, with the addition of 350 cases bringing the total to 51,851 cases.

The number of confirmed COVID-19 positive patients who recovered increased by 53 people. This brings the total to 48,767 people who have recovered.

For cases of death due to COVID-19 in Depok City increased by three cases. The total death toll is 978 people.

The number of active confirmed cases of COVID-19 in Depok City is 2,106 cases. Then, it was recorded that the number of residents of Depok City with active close contacts was 1,012 people. As for the active suspect case category in Depok City, there are 131 people.*
