Ruben Amorim Back to Face MU, AC Milan Won 4-2
AC Milan won a convincing 4-2 over Manchester United in a 2026/27 pre-season friendly at the Wroclaw Stadium, Poland on Saturday, August 15.
Having been two goals down early on through goals from Harry Maguire and Patrick Dorgu, the Rossoneri bounced back and won thanks to goals from Samuel Chukwueze, Alphadjo Cisse, Goncalo Ramos, and Ruben Loftus-Cheek.
This match is also interesting because coach Ruben Amorim is facing Manchester United for the first time since being fired in January 2026.
MU immediately opened the advantage when the match was only two minutes. Bruno Fernandes' corner kick was greeted by Maguire's header in front of the goal. The ball failed to be stopped by Milan's young goalkeeper, Lorenzo Torriani.
Milan tried to respond. Ruben Loftus-Cheek got two chances in the 8th and 14th minutes, but both were still able to be thwarted by MU goalkeeper, Senne Lammens.
MU then got a penalty in the 41st minute after Koni De Winter was judged to have committed a foul against Youri Tielemans. Bruno Fernandes stepped up as the executor, but his shot to the right side of the goal was successfully blocked by Torriani.
Milan's pressure finally bore fruit. Chukwueze scored the equalizer after taking advantage of a ball sent by Goncalo Ramos from the left side. The score remained 1-1 until halftime.
MU again took the lead in the 51st minute. Dorgu recorded his name on the scoreboard after taking advantage of a Milan player's mistake in making a backpass.
However, MU's advantage did not last long. Six minutes later, Milan equalized again through Cisse.
Chukwueze again became Milan's goal scorer in the 68th minute. His cross was greeted by Ramos' header that shook Lammens' goal. Milan then turned ahead 3-2.
The Rossoneri got further away four minutes later. Loftus-Cheek dribbled from the right side into the penalty area before firing into the near post which Lammens couldn't stop.
MU tried to catch up in the final minutes of the match. However, Torriani performed solidly under the Milan crossbar and several times thwarted the Red Devils' chances.
Milan finally managed to maintain a 4-2 lead until the final whistle. The victory was a positive capital for the Rossoneri in preparation for the new season.
