The bodies of five climbers who went missing in Nepal were found after nine months.

JAKARTA - The body of a climber who went missing in Nepal was found at an altitude of 5,000 meters, as the snow melted.

An expedition agency on Monday this week stated that the bodies of five climbers who were lost on the peak of Yalung Ri, Nepal, nine months ago had been found.

The bodies were found at an altitude of 5,400 meters (17,717 feet) in the Rolwaling region after the seasonal snow melted, according to Dreamers Destination Treks and Expedition, quoted from Anadolu (15/8).

The climbers - who consisted of three foreign nationals and two Nepalese - were reported missing in November last year.

The victims who died were identified as Marco Di Marcello (Canada), Markus Kirchler (Italy), Jakob Schreiber (Germany), as well as Padam Tamang and Mere Karki.

Phurba Tenjing Sherpa, a rescue officer and Chief Operating Officer of Dreamers' Dream Expedition, said the bodies of the foreign climbers would be handed over to their families after the autopsy process in Kathmandu was completed.

Two other climbers from the team were previously found dead, while five others were rescued alive after their group was hit by an avalanche.
