Four KMP Victims of Putri Yasmin Burned are Still Searching

MATARAM - A joint SAR team is looking for four people who were victims of the burning of the KMP Putri Yasmin passenger ship in the waters of the Lombok Strait, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB).

Head of the Mataram SAR Office, Muhamad Hariyadimengatakan, based on the latest developments in the SAR operation for the burning of the KMP Putri Yasmin, noted a change in the number of missing victims.

"Of the five people who were previously sought, one of them was confirmed to be safe after it was confirmed that they were not on board the ship during the incident," he said in Mataram, Friday, August 14, as reported by ANTARA.

He said the survivor on behalf of I Ratu Agung Ayu Sekar (21), a resident of Mataram, had been reported back to his home safely by the family.

"Based on the information received by the SAR Post, sister Ayu did buy a KMP Putri Yasmin ticket, so her name was recorded in the manifest. However, due to a change in plans, she left early on August 9, 2026 using another ship," said Hariyadi.

With the clarity of this information, the number of victims who are still being searched by the joint SAR team now remains four people.

"All the victims are Indonesian citizens (WNI)," he said.

The details of the identities of the victims who have not been found, namely Yasir Arafat (37) from Mataram, Selvina Rambu Mayi (28) from Sumba, I Made Sutarjana (55) from Denpasar, and Slamet Yulianto (41) from Denpasar.

"The search was temporarily suspended on Friday afternoon and will resume on Saturday (15/8) morning to focus on the search for the four victims who have not been found," he said.
