PDI Perjuangan Relaxed Response to Meeting of the Secretary General of the Government Coalition Party

JAKARTA - Chairman of the PDI-P DPP, Andreas Hugo Pareira, emphasized that his party did not bother about the agenda of the meeting of the general secretaries (sekjen) of political parties in the government coalition which took place in Jakarta on Thursday (13/8/2026).

"I don't know, it's a matter of people," said Andreas when met at the Parliament Complex, Senayan, Jakarta, Friday.

Andreas admitted that he did not know the detailed agenda and discussion in the meeting held at the residence of the Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Sugiono. However, he ensured that the PDI Perjuangan responded to it casually.

"No, no. I don't know. Nothing," said Andreas confirming his party's stance.

Previously, the Secretary General of the Gerindra Party, Sugiono, invited the secretaries general of political parties in the coalition to his residence on Thursday evening. The meeting was packaged in a family atmosphere to welcome the 81st Anniversary of the Independence of the Republic of Indonesia.

Sugiono explained that the social gathering was also used to strengthen communication and reflect on the government's coalition.

"This is a meeting that has not been able to be carried out. We gathered in a family atmosphere to welcome the Independence Day of the Republic of Indonesia and reflect on the coalition's journey during the almost two years of President Prabowo Subianto-Gibran Rakabuming Raka's government," said Sugiono.

The meeting was attended by the party secretaries general of political parties that are part of the coalition supporting the Prabowo-Gibran government, both from parliamentary and non-parliamentary political parties.
