Minister of Finance Purbaya Optimistic that the 2027 State Budget Target Can Be Realized

JAKARTA - Finance Minister Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa is optimistic that the target of the State Budget Draft (RAPBN) for the 2027 Fiscal Year can be fully realized. This belief is based on maintained macroeconomic stability and a solid track record of fiscal management.

In the 2027 State Budget, state revenues are estimated to reach IDR 3,426 trillion, while state spending is planned at IDR 4,097.2 trillion. With this composition, the budget deficit is pegged at IDR 671.2 trillion or around 2.40 percent of Gross Domestic Product (GDP).

"What the President (Prabowo Subianto) designed and presented to the DPR will almost certainly be able to be realized by utilizing our experience that has been quite good so far," said Purbaya at the RAPBN Press Conference and Fiscal Note for Fiscal Year 2027 in Jakarta, Friday.

Capital Performance of the Economy 2026 as a Driver

Minister of Finance Purbaya said that the performance of the national economy in the first half of 2026 became a strong foundation for welcoming the 2027 fiscal year.

Based on data from the Central Statistics Agency (BPS), Indonesia's economic growth in the first quarter of 2026 was recorded at 5.61 percent (year-on-year/yoy) and 5.29 percent (yoy) in the second quarter. Although there was a slight adjustment, the growth rate remained consistent at above the 5 percent level.

"That happened because of good monetary, fiscal, and financial sector policies. In the second semester of this year, we will ensure that the results will be even better, so that we can grow close to 6 percent by the end of 2026," explained the Minister of Finance.

The economic growth rate of 6 percent (yoy) is designed to be higher than the 2026 state budget target of 5.4 percent (yoy).

Macro Assumptions of the 2027 State Budget

In addition to revenue and spending targets, the government also sets a number of basic macroeconomic assumptions in the 2027 State Budget, including:

Rupiah Exchange Rate: Rp17,500 per dollar ASLaju Inflation: Kept at around 2.5 percent SBN 10-Year Interest Rate: Projected at 6.9 percent Crude Oil Price (ICP): Estimated at 75 US dollars per barrel Oil Lifting: Targeted at 610,000 barrels per day Gas Lifting: Targeted at 954,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day
