Prabowo Claims DSI Managed Export Foreign Exchange Reached 14 Billion US Dollars, Found Additional Potential of 5 Billion US Dollars

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto revealed that PT Danantara Sumberdaya Indonesia (DSI) has managed foreign exchange from exports worth 14 billion US dollars or around Rp. 249.2 trillion since it started operating on June 1, 2026.

Meanwhile, DSI is currently handling three strategic natural resources commodities, namely coal, palm oil and its derivatives, as well as iron alloys or ferro alloys.

"Since it started operating on June 1, 2026 with only 3 commodities, coal, palm oil, and iron and steel, 2 months and 13 days DSI managed to export foreign exchange of US$ 14 billion from 3 strategic commodities," he said in the Annual Meeting of the Indonesian People's Consultative Assembly (MPR) and Joint Meeting of the Indonesian House of Representatives (DPR) and the Indonesian DPD 2026, Friday, August 14.

According to Prabowo, during this period DSI has monitored more than 6,500 export transactions from the three commodities.

He added that from the monitoring process, DSI also found additional potential foreign exchange of US $ 5 billion which came from differences and adjustments in the price of foreign exchange payments from exports.

"DSI has found an additional potential of 5 billion US dollars just from the difference and adjustment of prices from export foreign exchange payments," he said.

Prabowo assessed that the findings showed the great potential for increasing the country's foreign exchange revenue if supervision of strategic export commodities was expanded.

"Imagine that in the future all of our export commodities will be monitored and managed by DSI, how much will the results increase that will enter the country," he said.

Prabowo said that to strengthen supervision, the DSI would expand monitoring to 50 ports spread across 25 provinces and the government also plans to expand the scope of commodities managed so that it is not limited to the current three commodities.

"DSI will manage all of our strategic export commodities, not just three. We don't want Indonesia to be cheated anymore," he said.

He emphasized that this step is part of the government's efforts to ensure that Indonesia's natural wealth and export results provide greater benefits for the community.

Prabowo assessed that national wealth should not only provide benefits to a few parties while the community still faces economic difficulties.

"Indonesian wealth should not enrich a few people and leave our people living in poverty. This is not only unfair, this is not the attitude of a smart country. Our goods, our property, others who determine the price," he concluded.
