BTN-PPATK Repair 20 RTLH, Create a Suitable House for Prosperous Families

JAKARTA - PT Bank Tabungan Negara (Persero) Tbk (BTN) together with the Financial Transaction Reporting and Analysis Center (PPATK) repaired 20 Unfit Housing (RTLH) for pre-jahtera families in four regions of Indonesia. The collaboration was held in various regions to reach more Indonesian people who still live in unsuitable housing.

A total of 20 RTLH are spread across five units each in Lebak, Cianjur, Sukabumi, and Purworejo. This program continues the collaboration between BTN-PPATK in 2025 which has improved 15 houses, so that in two years a total of 35 houses have become beneficiaries.

BTN President Director Nixon L.P. Napitupulu said that improving RTLH is one solution to reach people who do not have the ability to obtain a house through financing or to improve their homes independently. Moreover, about one in three Indonesian families still live in a house that does not meet all the criteria for a decent dwelling.

"BTN lives from the housing industry and we understand very well that not all segments of the community can get a house through KPR, especially people in desil 1, 2, 3 and some desil 4 who still have limitations to pay installments. Therefore, one of the solutions we can do is through surgery. house," said Nixon in Warunggunung Village, Lebak Regency, Banten, Thursday, August 13.

According to Nixon, solving the problem of uninhabitable houses requires the involvement of many parties. BTN and PPATK are also committed to making the house surgery program an annual activity by targeting areas that are still facing poverty and extreme poverty.

"What we are doing today is still a small part. But if all corporations and institutions have the same movement, we can repair thousands of houses every year. We don't just wait for the government, corporations can also move together and the impact is immediately felt by the community," he said.

The program is also in line with BTN's transformation towards Beyond Mortgage - Building a House, Building a Life, as well as the spirit of transformation of SOEs under Danantara Indonesia to create sustainable value and impact for the community. BTN has also channeled financing for around 6.1 million houses throughout Indonesia.

On the same occasion, PPATK Head Ivan Yustiavandana said that the home surgery program is part of the Indonesian National Anti-Money Laundering Movement which has entered its 24th year and has become a joint movement of various stakeholders.

"In the 24th National Anti-Money Laundering Movement of Indonesia, we together with all stakeholders, on this occasion with BTN, build and repair houses to help our brothers and sisters who need basic needs in the form of boards. In the future, activities like this will continue to be carried out together with BTN," said Ivan.

The spirit of "Clean House, Clean Finance" will also be expanded through family financial literacy. The reason is that the family is the smallest group in society that is the foundation in forming healthy and sustainable financial behavior.

Meanwhile, the impact of the program was also felt by one of the beneficiaries, Sanatra, who previously lived with his family in a house with damaged and leaking conditions.

"Before his house was about to collapse, it was leaking. He wanted to fix it but he didn't have the money because he only had money for food and the children's needs. Thank God it's good now. It's really nice, me, my wife, and my children. Thank you very much to BTN," he said.

Deputy Regent of Lebak Amir Hamzah also appreciated the steps taken by BTN and PPATK. According to him, the poverty rate in Lebak Regency is still around 8.03%, with about 5,000 people in the extreme poverty category, which also affects the living conditions of the community.

"We are very grateful to PPATK for paying attention to our area and also to BTN. Lebak Regency is still facing poverty problems. Therefore, we hope that activities like this can continue to be present in Lebak Regency," said Amir.

For information, the beneficiaries of the RTLH program are determined through coordination with the Housing and Settlement Area Service and the local government, accompanied by a verification process of the condition of the house and the eligibility of the recipient.

The program also supports the government's 3 Million House Program and strengthens BTN's spirit to not only build houses, but also build a better community life.
