Pramono Revised Public Transportation Tariff August 17, Batal Rp1 to Rp8
JAKARTA - DKI Jakarta Governor Pramono Anung canceled the Rp1 public transportation tariff policy on the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian Independence Day, August 17, 2026. The DKI Provincial Government revised the special tariff to Rp8 to be in line with the central government's policy.
Pramono said the tariff changes were decided after the DKI Provincial Government coordinated with the Central Government.
"After we coordinated with the Central Government and also with the City Hall, then for August 17 we revised the tariff not Rp1 but Rp8," said Pramono in Manggarai, South Jakarta, Thursday, August 13.
According to Pramono, the adjustment was made to equalize the transportation tariffs managed by the Central Government and the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government on the momentum of independence celebrations.
"So that the tariffs decided or managed by the Central Government with the Jakarta Government are the same," said Pramono.
With this decision, the tariff for all public transportation services that received special treatment on August 17 was set at Rp8.
"So that all tariffs in the context of the 17 August commemoration are Rp8," he said.
Previously, the DKI Jakarta Provincial Government announced plans to implement a tariff of Rp. 1 for all modes of transportation managed by the local government, namely the Jakarta MRT, Jakarta LRT, and Transjakarta, as part of the 81st anniversary of the Indonesian Independence.
The policy was originally prepared as a special tariff that applies until August 17, 2026, before it was finally revised to Rp8.
