Support UMKM to Upgrade, BNIdirect Strengthen Business Financial Management

JAKARTA - Business growth is not only marked by increased sales or increased customers. As the scale of business grows, business actors also need to build increasingly orderly financial management, ranging from managing payments and receipts, monitoring cash flow, to ensuring that every transaction goes through an adequate examination process.

To support these needs, PT Bank Negara Indonesia (Persero) Tbk or BNI continues to strengthen BNIdirect as a one-stop digital financial services solution that presents a series of integrated financial management services for various business customer segments, ranging from MSMEs to companies and institutions.

This readiness is especially needed by MSMEs who are expanding their markets, adding business partners, and increasing operational capacity. As business activity increases, adequate financial management systems are needed to help business actors reduce administrative complexity, monitor cash flow, and maintain control over transactions.

Until the end of June 2026, the number of BNIdirect users reached 280 thousand. In the same period, transaction volume grew 17 percent year-on-year to IDR 6,039 trillion. This achievement reflects the increasing use of BNI's digital services by business customers. Digitalization not only helps accelerate transactions, but also becomes the foundation for business actors to build more efficient, measurable, and controlled financial processes as their business scales.

Financial Management that Grows Together with Business

BNI presents BNIdirect business to support MSMEs in managing various financial needs, ranging from fund transfers, mass payments, to online account management. The presence of this service helps business actors reduce manual processes and carry out transaction activities through one platform.

For MSMEs, financial management digitization can be part of the process of building a more professional business. When business activities are more complex, business actors need more orderly transaction records, easier monitoring of funds, and a management mechanism for authority that is in line with organizational development.

Meanwhile, BNIdirect cash is provided for institutional customers, companies, institutions, and foundations that have higher transaction volumes and complexities. This service can be used by multiple users or multi-users, so that companies can divide authority in each stage of the transaction.

In this mechanism, Maker is tasked with creating or entering payment transactions. The transaction is then checked and validated by the Approver before being forwarded by the Releaser to the bank for processing. BNI is also continuing to develop the BNIdirect business so that it can support a multi-user mechanism with a division of roles

Maker, Approver, and Releaser. This development is expected to help MSMEs build stronger transaction control as the scale and complexity of the business increases.

Digital and Network Integration to Optimize Regional Potential

The strengthening of digital solutions through BNIdirect is also equipped with the optimization of the BNI network through the implementation of BRAVE or Branch, Region & Area Value Empowerment which has now been implemented in all operational areas. This program strengthens the function of branch offices as a center of sales activities, increases network productivity, and optimizes business potential in each area.

Through BRAVE, branch offices are encouraged to be more active in understanding local economic characteristics, exploring business opportunities, and building a business ecosystem that can bring together the needs of MSMEs with market potential in their region. The network's capabilities are then strengthened by BNI's digital solutions to help customers manage transactions and financial activities as their business develops.

BNI President Director Putrama Wahju Setyawan said that digital transformation and the implementation of BRAVE are part of BNI's long-term strategy to build an increasingly agile organization, strengthen business capabilities, and provide services that are relevant to customer needs.

"Through BRAVE, each region and branch office has an increasingly strong role in exploring local economic potential and building a business ecosystem. The integration between network capabilities and digital solutions is expected to accelerate acquisitions, expand transactions, and improve the quality of relationships with customers," said Putrama.

The implementation of BRAVE and the strengthening of BNIdirect are carried out in line with the agenda of transforming SOEs under the coordination of Danantara Indonesia. The synergy between increasingly productive networks and continuously evolving digital capabilities is part of BNI's efforts to support SMEs to rise in class and strengthen economic growth in various regions.

With this strategy, BNI is optimistic that it can continue to improve its competitiveness while creating long-term value for customers and stakeholders.
