JCI Thursday Towards Level 6.400, Five Stocks Recommended
JAKARTA - The Composite Stock Price Index (JCI) is projected to reach 6,400 after the announcement of MSCI rebalancing in today's trading, Thursday, August 12. Phintraco Sekuritas in its research said the index is expected to move in the range of resistance 6,400, pivot 6,350, support 6,270.
Phintraco Sekuritas explained that the JCI yesterday closed up 1.69 percent to 6,373.85. The JCI managed to stay above the support of 6,250-6,270 and turned around to strengthen and closed above the MA5-MA50 level.
"JCI today has the potential to test the level of 6,400, but the varied sentiment has the opportunity to make the index move mixed," wrote Phintraco Sekuritas.
Meanwhile, Phintraco Sekuritas said that the results of the August 2026 rebalancing of the MSCI for the Global Standard Index removed GOTO and CPIN shares. As for the Smallcap index, it includes CPIN shares and removes ARTO, BUKA, ESSA, FILM, HEAL, KPIG, RATU, SMGR, TCPI shares.
Phintraco Sekuritas said investors will be waiting for President Prabowo's State of the Nation Address to deliver the 2027 State Budget Bill and the Financial Note on Friday, August 14. The presentation will be an opportunity for the Government to outline the direction of fiscal policy and next year's budget.
"Investors expect that budget posts can be allocated effectively and efficiently and reduce the budget for populist policies, so that they can meet the 2027 state budget deficit target of around 1.8-2.4 percent of GDP," explained Phintraco Securities.
Meanwhile, from the external, Phintraco Securities said, market participants are waiting for a number of important data. From Europe, today investors will look forward to the data on the growth of the British economy which is estimated to grow 1.1 percent YoY in the second quarter of 2026 from 0.9 percent YoY in the first quarter of 2026, although on a quarterly basis it is estimated to be 0.4 percent QoQ from 0.6 percent QoQ.
From the Euro Area, Phintraco Sekuritas said that data on industrial production would be released which was predicted to be minus 0.8 percent YoY in June 2026 from minus 1.2 percent YoY in May 2026. Meanwhile, from the US, investors will look forward to PPI inflation data which is predicted to slow down to 4.9 percent YoY in July 2026 from 5.5 percent in June 2026.
Phintraco Sekuritas recommends five stocks for trading today, namely PTRO, TPIA, BRPT, BMRI and BBCA.
