BRI Cares Strengthens Maternal and Child Health Services through the Matahari Posyandu in Brilian Hargobinangun Sleman Village

SLEMAN - BRI Peduli as the umbrella of the Social and Environmental Responsibility (TJSL) Program of PT. Bank Rakyat Indonesia (Persero) Tbk continues to strengthen its commitment to improving the quality of life of the community, one of which is through strengthening maternal and child health.

This commitment is shown through the "Brilliant Village Program 1000 First Days of Life" in the form of the construction of the Matahari Posyandu located in Hargobinangun Village, Kaliurang West Hamlet, Pakem District, Sleman Regency, Yogyakarta.

The inauguration of the Matahari Posyandu was held on Tuesday (4/8) with the presence of the Director of Health Promotion and Community Health of the Ministry of Health of the Republic of Indonesia, dr. Niken Wastu Palupi, Executive Director of the Wednesday Blue Foundations Toro Sudarmadi, Regent of Sleman, H. Harda Kiswaya and a number of other officials.

BRI Corporate Secretary Dhanny revealed that the inauguration of the Matahari Posyandu was a symbol of the start of the implementation of the Brilliant Village Program 1000 HPK in Hargobinangun Village, as well as a tangible manifestation of BRI's commitment to supporting sustainable community health development.

This program departs from the strategic role of Posyandu as the front line of primary health services that directly reach pregnant women, breastfeeding mothers, infants, and toddlers at the community level.

"Through this initiative, we hope that Posyandu will not only be a place for routine health services, but also a center for education, community empowerment, and strengthening collaboration between all stakeholders in supporting the growth and development of children from an early age," he said.

He also added that this program is focused on revitalizing Posyandu services through capacity building for cadres, utilization of innovation and technology, strengthening health and nutrition education and the provision of supplementary food (PMT) for target groups, as well as the development of community-based food security through fish cultivation as a source of nutritious protein.

Through this approach, it is hoped that Posyandu will be able to provide more quality, sustainable services, and contribute to accelerating the reduction of stunting and improving maternal and child health.

"We believe that when communities grow healthy and prosperous, villages will be more advanced, the economy will be stronger, and the future of the nation will be brighter. Through BRI Peduli, we will continue to strive to provide social programs that provide real benefits for the people of Indonesia," he said.

Meanwhile, the Head of Hargobinangun Village, Amin Sarjito, welcomed the initiative of the Brilliant Village Program for the First 1000 Days of Life. "This program makes the Posyandu service better and more comfortable. We hope that the community will be more active in using Posyandu for the health of mothers and children," said Amin Sarjito.

He added that the presence of BRI Peduli not only supports the improvement of the quality of Posyandu services, but also accompanies parents to be more prepared to maintain the health and growth of children from an early age. This program is expected to continue and become an inspiration for other villages in improving the quality of maternal and child health.

For information, Hargobinangun Village is a village located on the slopes of Mount Merapi and has great potential in the tourism, agriculture, and community empowerment sectors. Various potentials are being developed through strengthening village government governance, community economic development, and improving the quality of basic services for residents.

This effort has led Hargobinangun Village to become one of the 40 Best Brilliant Villages 2023, a program from BRI that encourages villages to continue to improve their governance capacity, innovation, and sustainable development. (ADV)
