Investigation of the Return of the Envelope, the KPK Will Call Raja Juli's Assistant to the Kuansing Police

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) said it would call a number of parties who are suspected of knowing the return of an envelope containing money from the Minister of Forestry (Menhut) Raja Juli Antoni to the Regent of Kuantan (Kuansing) Suhardiman Amby.

KPK spokesman Budi Prasetyo said the summons would be carried out to confirm the return and find out the cause of the decrease in the contents of the envelope.

The KPK said that Suhardiman allegedly handed over 14,000 Singapore dollars to Raja Juli in a meeting. However, this amount was reduced to 12,000 Singapore dollars after the return was made by Raja Juli's party.

"Well, the difference of 2,000 Singapore dollars will certainly be investigated by investigators, they will delve into the parties who are suspected of knowing why there is a difference between the gift and the return," Budi told reporters at the KPK's Red and White building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Wednesday, August 12.

"Of course, if the return made by the Minister is facilitated or there are parties who then help to know the process and mechanism of the grant, then the investigators are certainly open to the possibility of requesting information from parties who know the process of returning the money," he continued.

Even so, Budi could not specify when and who would be called. Including, the possibility of calling the Kuansing Police Chief AKBP Hidayat Perdana.

"Later we will wait for the development. Of course, the investigators need information to deepen the process of return made by the Minister to the parties in the Kuansing Regency Government, yes, especially about the amount of return that there is a gap, there is a difference from the amount given. "

Raja Juli is known to have admitted the return of the envelope given by Suhardiman Amby during the hearing last June. This confession was made after the KPK carried out a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) in the Kuansing area.

At that time, Raja Juli ordered his aides to return the envelope left by Suhardiman on June 5, 2026. He also admitted that he did not know what was inside.

However, the plan was delayed because the aide who could be assigned had to accompany him in the official agenda. Furthermore, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Forestry issued a letter of assignment to Raja Juli's aide on June 11, 2026.

During the return process, Raja Juli admitted that he contacted the Riau Police Chief to help bring his aide together with the Regent of Kuansing. He claimed that the handover was made on June 12, 2026 at the Kuansing Police, which was equipped with documentation and a receipt.

As previously reported, the KPK named three people as suspects in the alleged bribery of the filling of the Kuansing Regent's post after conducting a hand-in-hand operation (OTT) on Monday, June 29. They are Kuansing Regent Suhardiman Amby, Kuansing Regent Zulkarnain, and Ardiles as President Director of PT Mitra Ideal Consultant.

In the construction of the case, Suhardiman allegedly asked for one unit of Toyota Land Cruiser 300 GR-S worth around Rp2.05 billion to the participants of the selection for the position of the Regional Secretary.

The request was fulfilled by Zulkarnain who bought the vehicle through a credit scheme using Ardiles' identity for financing applications.

The KPK also found other alleged receipts made by Suhardiman related to the process of releasing Limited Production Forest (HPT) areas. Investigators are said to be tracing the amount of receipts, the mechanism of giving to the party suspected of receiving at the Ministry of Forestry.
