Febrie Adriansyah's lawyer says Sutrimo is not a Karumga but a guard of an empty house

JAKARTA - Former Deputy Attorney General for Special Crimes (Jampidsus) Febrie Adriansyah and his family asked the public not to speculate about the death of a man named Sutrimo.

Febrie, through his lawyer team member, Febri Diansyah, said the family expressed condolences for Sutrimo's death and respected the investigation conducted by the Polda Metro Jaya.

"The family hopes that with the legal process, the facts about this incident will become clearer so that there is no speculation or assumptions that are not true," said Febri as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 12.

Meanwhile, member of the advocay team FebrieAdriansyah, Firman Wijaya, said Sutrimo was not in the status of head of household (karumga) as widely reported.

"The position of the deceased is not as a karumga as many have said, but more to guard an empty house and live there," he said.

The empty house in question is a clinic in Kebayoran Baru, South Jakarta.

He also said Sutrimo often went home or took other jobs so that he did not continue to work with Febrie Adriansyah.

Febrie Adriansyah's family asked that Sutrimo's death not be linked to the ongoing legal case at the Attorney General's Office, where Febrie was named a suspect in an alleged money laundering crime (TPPU). Moreover, Sutrimo is known to have been ill for a long time and undergoing treatment.

"As far as the family knows, the deceased has been ill for a long time. When he was treated, he was said to have been ill for years," he said.

He also invited all parties to respect the legal process currently underway, including the pre-trial which has been filed by the team of lawyers.

It is known that the Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya has increased the status of handling the Sutrimo death case from the investigation stage to the investigation, and scheduled the exhumation action on Wednesday (12/8).

Director of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol. Iman Imanuddin said that the handling of the case was carried out based on a combination of two police reports, namely a report from the public at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police and a report from the victim's family at the Banyumas Police, Central Java, which has now been transferred to the Polda Metro Jaya.
