106 Passengers of KMP Putri Yasmin Burned in Lombok Strait Successfully Evacuated

MATARAM - SAR Mataram, West Nusa Tenggara (NTB). recorded as many as 106 passengers of the KMP Putri Yasmin who were burned in the waters of the Lombok Strait were successfully evacuated safely to the Lombok Lembar Port and the Padangbai Bali Port.

Head of the Mataram SAR Office, Muhamad Hariyadi, revealed that the passengers were successfully evacuated by a number of SAR, TNI AL and KMP Port Link ships that served the Lombok Lembar Port and Padangbai Bali routes.

"We have deployed KN 220 Mataram, Rigid Inflatable Boat (RIB), and Rigid Buoyancy Boat (RBB) to the scene to carry out evacuation and coordinate with ships around the scene," he said as quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 12.

It is stated that 30 people were evacuated using the KMP Port Link and taken to Padangbai Bali, 59 people were evacuated using the KN SAR Arjuna 220 to Lembar Port, and 17 people were evacuated using a TNI AL ship to Lembar.

"The surviving passengers are evacuated to Padangbai Port and Lembar Port," he said.

He said the Mataram SAR Office collaborated with the Denpasar SAR Office which deployed the main ship KN SAR Arjuna. Not only from the sea route, monitoring and search from the air were also deployed using a helicopter from SGi Air Bali.

"Yes, we are still focusing on temporary evacuation," he said.

Hariyadi revealed that the fire incident that hit the KMP Putri Yasmin in the waters of the Lombok Strait, NTB, occurred on Wednesday at 04.15 WITA when the ship was on its way from Padang Bai Port to Lembar Port.

The Mataram SAR Office, which received the emergency report at 04.39 WITA, immediately deployed personnel to carry out the evacuation process.
