Garuda Indonesia Free 170,845 Domestic Tickets for Wisman

JAKARTA - PT Garuda Indonesia (Persero) Tbk has launched a free domestic flight program or free domestic flight for foreign tourists (tourists). This program provides 170,845 free domestic flight tickets to encourage tourists to explore more destinations in Indonesia.

The program is the result of cooperation between Garuda Indonesia and PT Aviasi Pariwisata Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney through the Discover More Indonesia campaign.

Through this program, foreign tourists who purchase Garuda Indonesia round-trip international flight tickets have the opportunity to get free domestic flight tickets or free add-on flights to various tourist destinations in Indonesia.

Garuda Indonesia Marketing Group Head Prina Eka Putri said the program was designed to change the pattern of outbound travel which has tended to be centered on certain destinations, so that they can continue their journey to other destinations in Indonesia.

"Today, our challenge is not only how to bring more international travelers to Indonesia, but how one arrival does not just stop at one point, but develops into a trip to the second and third destinations and beyond," Prina said in a press conference at Sarinah, Jakarta, Tuesday, August 11, 2026.

Prina explained that the provision of 170,845 free domestic tickets also coincided with the momentum of the Indonesian Independence Day commemoration. Through this program, Garuda Indonesia wants to encourage foreign tourists to get to know other regions in the country, so that they are not only centered on Bali and Jakarta.

"We hope that tourists will be encouraged to more easily continue their journey to other domestic Indonesian destinations, and 170,845 (tickets) we will also commemorate the Indonesian Independence Month," he said.

The free domestic flight program is valid for the flight period from August 1 to November 30, 2026. Travelers can obtain this facility by purchasing Garuda Indonesia tickets through all sales channels, ranging from online travel agents (OTA), conventional travel agents, ticket sales offices, to Garuda Indonesia's call center and WhatsApp. In making a free domestic flight reservation, travelers are required to use the code INDO.

Prina said that tourists who had purchased tickets before the program was launched could still add free domestic flight facilities, as long as they met the requirements set. One of them, the city of departure and return must be the same and meet the conditions for staying in Indonesia.

Prina said that for international flights to Indonesia, travel must be carried out no later than November 30, 2026.

However, he continued, tourists who arrived in Indonesia at the end of November can still continue domestic travel until December in accordance with the provisions of the eligibility program.

"There is an eligibility, meaning the rules for how many days to stay in Indonesia are allowed to get this free domestic flight, and of course they must return to where they departed," said Prina.
