Viral Stand Miras Newport Holds Quiz at The Sounds Project Ancol, Visitors Memorize Surah Ad-Duha Free One Bottle

JAKARTA - A video recording of alleged religious blasphemy at the "The Sounds Project" music festival held in the Ancol area, North Jakarta, went viral on the Instagram social media.

In the video footage that circulated, it was seen that visitors were challenged to memorize the Ad-Duha Surah at an alcohol booth (stand) that read "New Port".

Meanwhile, the event took place on Sunday, August 9, 2026.

In the challenge, visitors who successfully memorize will get a gift of one bottle of alcoholic beverage.

The incident was recorded by an amateur camera of a visitor and went viral on social media. Immediately the action was criticized by the public.

Currently, the viral case of alleged blasphemy is under investigation by the North Jakarta Metro Police.

Head of Public Relations of North Jakarta Metro Police, Iptu Maryati Jonggi confirmed that there was a report to North Jakarta Police from the MUI.

"MUI reported to the police. The case is currently under investigation, the incident is still being investigated and clarified to the parties related to the event," he said when confirmed, Tuesday, August 11, evening.

The police are still collecting a number of evidence from the video footage that went viral.

"We are collecting and examining existing evidence, including videos circulating on social media," he said.
