BGN Enforces a Maximum Consumption Time of MBG 4 Hours After Maturity

JAKARTA - The National Nutrition Agency (BGN) officially imposes a time limit for consuming Free Nutritious Meals (MBG) no later than four hours after cooked food as part of efforts to maintain food safety and quality for beneficiaries.

Head of the National Nutrition Agency (BGN) Sudaryono or who is familiarly called Mas Dar urged all students and schools to work together to ensure that MBG food is consumed within the specified time limit.

"BGN has imposed a food label that must be consumed four hours after the food is cooked. We appeal to students, learners, and also ask teachers to check together before the MBG food is consumed," said Mas Dar as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 11.

According to him, checking the time of consumption is a simple but important step in ensuring that the food received by students remains in a safe condition to be consumed. Therefore, food that has passed the consumption limit should not be eaten.

"If it is more than the specified hours, we respectfully ask that it not be consumed. I repeat, not to be consumed if it exceeds the specified limit hours," he said.

BGN places food security as an important part of the implementation of MBG. The provision of a time limit for consumption is one form of supervision to ensure that the food provided to beneficiaries not only meets the nutritional aspect, but is also safe to consume.

Mas Dar emphasized that the implementation of the rules requires the involvement of all parties, especially schools, teachers, and students. Compliance with consumption time is expected to strengthen efforts to prevent food safety risks while ensuring that the benefits of the program are received optimally.

"MBG must be safe and nutritious. Insyaallah, BGN, continues to improve services, supervision, monitoring, and collaboration from all parties so that this program runs well," said Sudaryono.
