How VinFast Electric Motorcycles Make Daily Mobility More Practical and Efficient
JAKARTA - The development of electric vehicles in Indonesia continues to open up new options for the public, including in the two-wheeled segment. Electric motorcycles are now not only seen as vehicles that are more environmentally friendly, but are also starting to be an option to support urban mobility that is practical, efficient, and still has an attractive appearance.
This trend is also driven by the increasing public attention to cost efficiency, the development of electric vehicle infrastructure, and the presence of increasingly diverse technologies. This condition makes consumers start considering other aspects besides energy efficiency, such as design, features, performance, and ease of use in everyday life.
One of the models that offers this approach is the VinFast Viper. This electric motorcycle carries a concept that combines sporty design, a number of modern features, and battery exchange technology that is claimed to be able to be done in a short time.
In terms of appearance, the VinFast Viper carries a character that is quite different from conventional motorcycles in general. The body with firm lines gives a sporty impression, while the position of the front lights which are close to the wheel arch makes the design look more distinctive.
This electric motorcycle has a length of 1,950 mm and a height of 1,122 mm. These dimensions make the Viper appear quite proportional while giving a modern and futuristic impression. This design character targets urban consumers, especially those who want a vehicle with a sporty look while adopting electrification technology.
Not only relying on appearance, the Viper is also equipped with an electric motor that is integrated into the wheel. The configuration is capable of producing a maximum power of 3,000 W when using one battery and increases to 5,200 W with two batteries. The configuration is designed to provide adequate acceleration response when used in urban environments.
Driving comfort is also taken care of through the use of dual suspension in the rear equipped with external oil tubes. Meanwhile, a number of smart features such as Smart Key with remote vehicle search function, anti-theft system, and remote on/off features are also embedded.
Drivers also get a TFT instrument panel and Projector LED headlights. The presence of these features further strengthens the Viper's character as an electric motorcycle that targets users who want a combination of technology and practicality.
One of the main attractions of the Viper is its battery exchange system. Users don't have to wait for hours for the charging process because the battery can be exchanged at a special station in about one to two minutes.
The technology allows users to continue their journey faster without having to rely too much on battery charging time. As the network of battery exchange stations increases, this system also has the potential to provide greater flexibility for high-mobility users.
In addition to the exchange method, the Viper battery can also be recharged at home or through public charging stations. VinFast also collaborates with V-Green as an infrastructure development partner to expand the network of battery exchange and electric vehicle charging facilities in Indonesia.
In terms of price, the VinFast Viper is marketed starting at Rp. 22,810,000 on the road (OTR) Jakarta. This price makes it one of the choices in the electric motorcycle segment that consumers who want to switch from gasoline-powered vehicles can consider.
VinFast also provides flexibility in battery ownership. Consumers can choose a battery rental scheme with a rate of Rp84,000 per month for one battery or buy the vehicle and the battery at the same time. Meanwhile, for battery replacement, the fee charged is up to Rp6,000 for each battery in one exchange.
To increase the appeal of using electric vehicles, VinFast provides free battery exchange facilities at V-Green public stations for one year for all VinFast electric motors. This facility is valid for a maximum of 20 exchanges per month for each vehicle.
In terms of consumer protection, Viper also gets a warranty of up to six years or 72,000 km. This policy is expected to provide a sense of security while reducing the potential cost of vehicle ownership in the long term.
VinFast also previously offered an incentive of IDR 1.6 million for consumers who made reservations with a deposit during the period from May 20 to June 20, 2026. The deposit is set at IDR 1 million and is non-refundable.
In the end, the cost advantage of the Viper compared to conventional motorcycles is most visible from its spending pattern, does not require gasoline, has battery rental options, measurable battery replacement costs, and a free exchange program for one year.
In addition to Viper, Vinfast also presents the Evo and Feliz II models. According to plans, this Vietnamese manufacturer will launch a total of eight models in 2026.
"This is just the first step. As part of our commitment to expanding our product portfolio. VinFast plans to introduce a total of eight models this year to build a strong and diverse presence in the Indonesian market," said VinFast e-Scooter Indonesia CEO Yordan Satriadi, quoted Tuesday, August 11.
