Metro Police Disrupt the Circulation of Methamphetamine in the Modus of the Expedition Package in Jakpus

JAKARTA - The Narcotics Investigation Directorate of the Metro Jaya Police thwarted the circulation of methamphetamine disguised as an expedition package delivery in the Cempaka Putih area, Central Jakarta, and arrested a suspect with the initials RS (32).

Panit 5 Subdit 3 Ditresnarkoba Polda Metro Jaya Ipda Agus Salim said the disclosure of the case began with community information regarding the rampant drug transactions in the Cempaka Putih area.

"The Directorate of Narcotics Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police on Friday (31/7) has arrested the suspect with the initials RS in the Cempaka Putih area with evidence in the form of seven packages containing methamphetamine with a gross weight of 31.48 grams," said Agus in his statement as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, August 11.

He explained, the officers who conducted an investigation at the location saw a man with the characteristics of the target in front of a restaurant. When secured, RS was carrying a number of packages suspected of containing narcotics.

"From the initial examination of the suspect's luggage, the police found three packages of methamphetamine with a gross weight of 5.08 grams, 5.10 grams, and 10.02 grams," said Agus.

The suspect at the hospital admitted to the officers that the packages of methamphetamine were taken from his residence in the North Jakarta area. "The members then conducted an expansion and search in the suspect's dormitory room," he said.

At the second location, officers again found a package of methamphetamine packaged in various containers and ready to be distributed, complete with a digital scale, plastic clips, tape labeled "Fragile", several paper bags (paper bags), and cloth bags used to disguise the package.

"Currently, the suspect RS and all the evidence have been taken to the Ditresnarkoba Office of the Polda Metro Jaya to undergo further investigation and development," said Agus.

Meanwhile, Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto emphasized that eradicating drugs is a shared responsibility.

"However small the information from the community, it is very useful for the police, starting from the nearest and surrounding environment so that we can all care," said Budi.

He also asked residents to immediately report potential disturbances of public security and order (kamtibmas) through the 110 National Police Call Center which is active 24 hours a day.
