Prabowo Scheduled to Open NU's 35th Congress in Jombang on August 27

JAKARTA - President Prabowo Subianto is scheduled to open the 35th Nahdlatul Ulama (NU) Congress, which will be held in Jombang Regency, East Java, on Thursday, August 27.

The Secretary General of the Nahdlatul Ulama General Board (PBNU) and Chairman of the 35th NU Congress Committee, Saifullah Yusuf or Gus Ipul, said President Prabowo was scheduled to attend the opening of the agenda.

"Insyaallah the president will come to open the Congress on August 27," said Gus Ipul in Jombang, Monday, August 10.

Gus Ipul said that President Prabowo's presence is expected to increase the number of residents who come to Jombang. In addition to the muktamar participants, NU residents from various regions are also predicted to crowd a number of activity locations.

This increase in mobility has the potential to impact traffic flow around the location of the 35th NU Congress, including the pesantren area and a number of locations that are the location of activities.

"PBNU apologizes if during the Muktamar there is traffic diversion or may cause congestion. We apologize to the public, especially those around the boarding school," he said.

Gus Ipul also expressed his appreciation to the police, local government, East Java Provincial Government, Jombang Regency Government, and the community who have supported the preparation of the Congress.

"We are grateful to the police, local government, governor, regent, and especially the people around the boarding school who have helped and supported the preparation of the Congress from the beginning," he said.

In the final preparations, Gus Ipul together with the Chairman of the Local Committee for the 35th NU Muktamar, KH Abdurrozaq Sholeh or Gus Rozaq, checked the readiness of the participants' rooms at Tower 5 of KH A Wahab Hasbullah University (Unwaha), Jombang.

Gus Ipul also put up a sticker for room distribution for the participants of the muktamar. After that, he led the committee's appeal that would be in charge of providing services to participants in Tower 5 Unwaha.

In addition, Gus Ipul held a meeting with the local committee to ensure that all preparations for the 35th NU Congress were running according to plan.

Gus Ipul reminded the committee that the 35th NU Congress has a special meaning because it was held in the environment of Pondok Pesantren Bahrul Ulum Tambakberas. The location has a connection with the history of the founders of NU. In relation to this, he invited all committees to maximize the implementation of the congress and maintain a service atmosphere.

"We are back in the arms of muassis. Therefore, let's deploy all our abilities. We hope that this Muktamar will get blessings," he said.

Meanwhile, the Chairman of the Local Committee for the 35th NU Muktamar, KH Abdurrozaq Sholeh, invited all committees to use the opportunity to host as an opportunity to provide the best service to the kiai, ulama, and all participants in the muktamar.

"One hundred years later, it is not certain that the Muktamar will return to Tambakberas. Therefore, let's be serious about serving the ulama. The intention is arranged, the intention is sincere," said Gus Rozaq.

According to him, the implementation of the 35th NU Congress will make Tambakberas one of the centers of attention for Nahdiyin residents from various regions, including from abroad. "The whole world will look at Tambakberas. In relation to this, let's show our best service to the kiai, ulama, and all the muktamirin," he said.
