5.1 Magnitude Earthquake Shakes North Bengkulu, No Tsunami Potential

JAKARTA - A magnitude 5.1 earthquake shook Enggano District, North Bengkulu Regency, on Tuesday, August 11 at around 00.08 WIB and was confirmed not to have the potential for a tsunami.

The Meteorology, Climatology and Geophysics Agency (BMKG) through an official website quoted in Jakarta, Tuesday, stated that the earthquake that shook North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province was located at the coordinates of 5.89 LS and 102.43 BT.

The location, according to the same data, is about 63 kilometers southeast of Enggano, North Bengkulu Regency, Bengkulu Province, at a depth of 30 kilometers.

"There is no potential for a tsunami," wrote BMKG, quoted by Antara.
