Catholic Youth Helat Badminton Tournament to Encourage Sports Spirit

JAKARTA - The Catholic Youth Center encourages the spirit of sports for the younger generation through a badminton tournament organized by youth and student organizations in commemoration of the 81st Independence Day of Indonesia.

The tournament, which carries the theme "United in Sportivitas, Moving for Indonesia", is an event for youth and student organizations to meet, compete, and strengthen brotherhood through badminton.

The General Chairman of the Catholic Youth Stefanus Gusma said that the tournament was open to the younger generation, especially millennials and Gen Z.

"We invite young generations, both millennials and Gen Z, to participate in the badminton competition, in addition to being healthy, this activity also binds the bonds of brotherhood," said Gusma in his statement.

The spirit of sportsmanship is an important part of the tournament. In addition to encouraging young people to be active in sports, the activity is expected to be a space to strengthen togetherness and collaboration between youth groups.

This youth and student organization badminton tournament will take place on August 21-23, 2026. The first day will take place from 07.00 to 17.00 WIB, then the second day at 13.00-17.00 WIB, and the last day at 09.00-17.30 WIB.

The match was held at the Kemenpora RI Badminton Court by competing in the men's doubles and women's doubles categories. The tournament participants are open to youth and student organizations and there is no registration fee.

"For participants, it is open to youth and student organizations and there is no registration fee, alias free," said Gusma.

The organizers of this event have prepared a total of millions of rupiah in prizes. The first winner will receive Rp. 5 million, the runner-up will take home Rp. 3 million, and the third place will be entitled to pocket Rp. 1.5 million. In addition, the winners will also receive special coaching money from the General Chairman of the PP GP Ansor, the General Chairman of the DPP GAMKI, and the General Chairman of the PP Youth Muhammadiyah.
