Danantara Opens Plans for IPO of SOEs, Pandu Sjahrir: To Add Liquidity
JAKARTA - The Anagata Nusantara Power Investment Management Agency (BPI Danantara) has opened a plan to release shares of a number of SOEs through a public offering of shares or Initial Public Offering (IPO) on the Indonesia Stock Exchange (IDX).
Chief Investment Officer of BPI Danantara Pandu Sjahrir said the plan is still in the process and is projected to run in the near future. The corporate action is also expected to increase the liquidity of the Indonesian capital market.
"Insya Allah we can focus on the next 6-12 months. There is also a process later in the exchange. The intention is also to increase liquidity to the Indonesian capital market," said Pandu when met at the BEI building, Jakarta, Monday, August 10, 2026.
Pandu has not disclosed in detail the state-owned enterprise that is certain to carry out an IPO. However, he said the corporate action process will be carried out through Danantara Asset Management (DAM).
"That's later, wait for DAM, later from Pak Dony (Oskaria) side can communicate directly," he said.
Previously, the Head of the State-Owned Enterprises Regulatory Agency (BP) and Chief Operating Officer (COO) of BPI Danantara, Dony Oskaria, said that a number of SOEs from various sectors would be encouraged to list on the exchange.
According to Dony, the company that is prepared for an IPO has a fairly large market capitalization. Thus, the corporate action is expected to increase the market capitalization on the Indonesia Stock Exchange.
Dony said a number of SOEs that were included in the IPO plan, including PT Pelabuhan Indonesia (Persero) or Pelindo, PT Pupuk Indonesia (Persero), PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney Airports, to PT Pegadaian (Persero).
"There are many, there is Pelindo, there is Angkasa Pura, and there are many companies that are indeed good for us to IPO later," he said.
However, Dony emphasized that the IPO is part of the final stage of SOEs transformation. Before entering the capital market, BP BUMN will first carry out consolidation or streamlining and restructuring of state-owned enterprises.
After the consolidation and restructuring process, the transformation will continue with human resource development (SDM) and management improvement through people development and corporate culture.
The next stage, SOEs will be encouraged to innovate through the application of technology, including artificial intelligence or artificial intelligence (AI).
After all these stages are carried out, the SOEs will only enter the corporate action stage, including the IPO. In the fifth year, SOEs will also be directed to achieve performance and competitiveness at the global level.
"Finally, we will make it a higher potential target," said Dony.
