IPO Survey: Minister Bahlil is in the Top Three Best Performing Ministers

JAKARTA - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources (ESDM) Bahlil Lahadalia is among the ministers who received positive assessments from the public based on the latest Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) survey. The survey results show that Minister Bahlil is in third place in public perception of ministers with the best performance in the government of President Prabowo Subianto.

Bahlil is in third place with a public satisfaction rate of 32.0 percent. Meanwhile, the first position is occupied by Minister of Finance Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa who received 42.8 percent and the second Secretary of State Teddy Indra Wijaya with 33.5 percent.

IPO Executive Director Dedi Kurnia Syah said the public's assessment of the performance of ministers is related to the level of popularity of each figure. According to him, both indicators also make Bahlil one of the figures who is quite prominent in the cabinet ranks.

"The survey findings also reflect the dynamics of public opinion that continues to evolve. Public perception of the government, satisfaction level with the President's performance, and political choices towards parties and national figures are part of the portrait presented in this IPO survey. Public perception of ministers who are considered to work well, this is linear with popularity. Minister Purbaya occupies the top position, then the Seskab Teddy Indra Wijaya in second place. Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia third," said IPO Executive Director Dedi Kurnia Syah in his statement, Monday, August 10.

In addition to receiving a positive assessment of performance, Bahlil also ranked third in the level of popularity of ministers. As many as 32.8 percent of respondents said they knew or knew the name of Bahlil. This figure is only below Purbaya Yudhi Sadewa with the first position recording a popularity rate of 43.5 percent and the Seskab Teddy Indra Wijaya in second place with 41.0 percent.

Bahlil's popularity is also recorded as higher than that of a number of other figures, such as Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono at 30.4 percent, while Zulkifli Hasan is at 26.1 percent.

However, the IPO survey also photographed public perceptions of ministers who were judged to have poor performance. The Minister of Human Rights (HAM) Natalius Pigai was at the top of the list with 51.8 percent. The next position was occupied by the Minister of Public Works Dody Hanggodo with 48.5 percent. Meanwhile, the Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni was recorded at 4.5 percent.

"The first is the Minister of Human Rights Natalius Pigai 51.8 percent, Minister PU Dody Hanggodo 48.5 percent, Minister of Forestry Raja Juli Antoni 4.5 percent," said Dedi.

According to Dedi, public perceptions of the government and ministers are not permanent. The assessment can change following the development of social-political conditions and policies implemented by the government. "So, I think the public's condition is always dynamic in giving assessments," he said.

The IPO national survey was held from July 27 to August 3, 2026, involving 1,200 respondents. The selection of respondents was carried out using the stratified multistage random sampling (SMRS) method. The survey has a margin of error of 2.9 percent with a 95 percent accuracy rate.

In addition to recording Bahlil's performance as Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources, the IPO survey also showed that the Golkar Party, which he leads, is also in the top three parties with the highest electability. Golkar received an electability of 10.4 percent, occupying third place after the Gerindra Party with 17.5 percent and the PDI Perjuangan 12.8 percent. Golkar is above the Democratic Party which received 8.1 percent, PKB 7 percent, PAN 5.1 percent, PKS 4.6 percent, and NasDem 4.4 percent.

Thus, the IPO survey recorded two achievements at once related to Bahlil Lahadalia. At the government level, Bahlil ranked in the top three ministers who were considered to work well. Meanwhile, at the political level, the Golkar party he leads also survived as the top three parties with the highest electability.
