Sutrimo Death Case Rises to Investigation, Exhumation Held Wednesday

JAKARTA - The Directorate of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya has increased the status of handling the case of the death of a resident with the initials S alias Sutrimo from the investigation stage to the investigation. Exhumation was carried out on Wednesday, August 12.

Director of Criminal Investigation of the Polda Metro Jaya, Kombes Iman Imanuddin, said that the handling of the case was carried out based on a combination of two police reports, namely a report from the public at the Criminal Investigation Unit of the National Police and a report from the victim's family at the Banyumas Police, Central Java, which has now been transferred to the Polda Metro Jaya.

"Based on the results of the investigation by the Banyumas Police and the Ditreskrimum team of the Polda Metro Jaya, we have increased the handling of the case to the investigation stage," said Iman as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 10.

He explained that the exhumation or exhumation of the tomb was carried out as part of the procedure for forensic medical investigation to reveal the exact cause of the victim's death. The results of the examination will later become a foothold for investigators to determine the next legal steps.

"Hopefully, from the results of the exhumation, we can find and conclude the cause of death in question," said Iman.

During the investigation process, the investigation team has asked for information from 24 witnesses. In addition, investigators are also scheduled to dig further information from the family when they visit the location in Banyumas.

Iman emphasized that the investigation process focuses on finding material evidence and legal facts in the field. The National Police guarantees that all legal processes run equally without differentiating the background of the victim.

"The police report we received contains allegations of murder or premeditated murder. Furthermore, investigators are focusing on legal facts found during the investigation process," said Iman.

Polda Metro Jaya previously took statements from five witnesses to investigate the cause of the death of a man named Sutrimo, who was considered unnatural in front of a clinic in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta.

"So far, investigators have asked for information from five witnesses," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Budi Hermanto, on July 31.

In addition, the Polda Metro Jaya together with the South Jakarta Metro Police also involved the National Police Forensic Laboratory Center (Puslabfor) to investigate the cause of the man's death.

Budi said that Puslabfor's involvement was carried out to obtain scientific evidence through the investigation of the crime scene (TKP) which had been carried out on July 26.

"We also understand the concerns and questions that arise in the community. To ensure the cause of the death of brother S, the police conducted an investigation of the crime scene with the involvement of Puslabfor and a series of other investigative actions," Budi said on July 29.
