LPSK 'Jemput Bola' Accompany the Family of Sutrimo Former Karumga Febrie Adriansyah

JAKARTA - The Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK) is "picking up the ball" to reach the family of the late Sutrimo, the former head of the household (karumga) of the former Jampidsus Febrie Adriansyah. LPSK offers the right to protection and legal assistance related to the case of Sutrimo's death which is being handled by the police.

Deputy Chairman of the LPSK Susilaningtias said that his party had coordinated with the Polda Metro Jaya regarding the handling of the case and was ready to provide guidance to the family.

"LPSK has coordinated with the Polda Metro Jaya regarding this case. Furthermore, LPSK will proactively reach out to the family of the late Sutrimo first. Later, it will depend on the family whether they will apply for protection to LPSK or not," said Susilaningtias as reported by ANTARA, Monday, August 10.

If the family submits an official application, LPSK will immediately conduct an in-depth review of the application files and documents received.

Regarding the eligibility of families and witnesses to receive protection, Susilaningtias stated that he could not provide further assessment before there was an official application file that could be reviewed.

However, LPSK opened the opportunity for emergency protection if there were urgent conditions when the team met with the victim's family in the field.

"Witnesses, victims, experts, or reporters can be granted emergency protection because there are life-threatening situations, medical or psychological conditions that require immediate treatment, as well as the need for assistance in handling criminal cases," he said.

He added that if the field team found one of these criteria, the emergency protection option could be immediately applied to the family of the late Sutrimo.

Polda Metro Jaya explained that it had taken statements from five witnesses to investigate the cause of the death of a man named Sutrimo who was considered unnatural in front of a clinic in the Kebayoran Baru area, South Jakarta.

"So far, investigators have asked for information from five witnesses," said Head of Public Relations of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Pol Budi Hermanto when met in Jakarta, Friday (31/7).
