West Bandung Prepares Cut And Fill Project to Accelerate the Development of Huntap Victims of Landslides

JAKARTA - The West Bandung Regency Government (Pemkab) West Java, has accelerated the construction of permanent housing (huntap) for 27 families of survivors of the landslide in Cipongkor District which occurred in 2024 as a stage of the relocation house construction.

Head of the West Bandung Regency Housing and Settlement Service (Disperkimtan) Anni Roslianti said in a statement in West Bandung, Sunday, that the auction documents for cut and fill work are currently being prepared for relocation land that has been released by the local government.

"It has been purchased by the local government, now it wants to auction cut and fill. It just wants to process the auction. The target is a three-month completion," he said.

The land with an area of about 3,600 square meters is located in Bojong Huni Village, RT 02, RW 02, Cibenda Village, or about 1.5 kilometers from Gintung Village which was buried by landslide material.

Anni explained that the cut and fill work was carried out to prepare the land contour before the construction of the house so that the relocation area had a safer and more stable soil condition.

The procurement of land for the huntap was carried out by the West Bandung Regency Government in 2025 through a number of stages, ranging from feasibility studies to ensure the safety of the location to the preparation of procurement documents and price assessments by the appraisal team.

After the cut and fill is completed, the construction of 27 houses will be carried out by the National Disaster Management Agency (BNPB), while the West Bandung Regency Government is responsible for land acquisition and land preparation.

"For the relocation of his house, there are 27 KK (heads of households). If the one who builds it is BNPB, we are part of land procurement and cut and fill," he said.

The head of Cibenda Village, Abdul Rohman, said that there were two private lands that were proposed as the relocation site for residents affected by the Gintung Village landslide.

Based on the study of the Geological Agency, both locations were declared safe for residential areas. The government then designated land in Bojong Huni Village as the location for the construction of the huntap.

"There are 27 houses, the remaining land for public facilities such as mosques, educational facilities, madrasahs and roads. The land release is the same as the Regency Government," said Abdul.

The construction of the huntap is a follow-up to the handling of the landslide disaster that hit Kampung Gintung on March 24, 2024.

The disaster caused 25 houses to be severely damaged and a number of other houses were affected so that residents had to be relocated. A total of 10 people died after being buried by landslide material.

Immediately starting the cut and fill auction process, the West Bandung Regency Government targets that the land preparation phase can be completed about three months before being continued with the construction of housing for survivors.
