Starting August 14, Husein Sastranegara will serve jet aircraft again.

JAKARTA - Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung, is ready to serve narrow body jet aircraft flights starting August 14, 2026.

This certainty was obtained after PT Angkasa Pura Indonesia (Persero) or InJourney Airports received approval from the Ministry of Transportation (Kemenhub).

The approval was given after InJourney Airports fulfilled all aspects of operational readiness set by the Ministry of Transportation, including security, safety, service, and compliance with aviation regulations.

The approval is contained in the letter from the Director General of Air Transportation of the Ministry of Transportation Number AU.101/17/4/DRJU.DBU-2026 concerning the Operation of Jet Aircraft at Husein Sastranegara Airport, Bandung.

InJourney Airports President Director Mohammad Rizal Pahlevi said his party was grateful for the support of the Ministry of Transportation and all parties during the process of optimizing Husein Sastranegara Airport.

"We are grateful to the Ministry of Transportation and all parties for their support to InJourney Airports during the preparation of optimization until Husein Sastranegara Airport was declared ready to serve jet aircraft flights on August 14, 2026," Rizal said in a statement, Sunday, August 9.

Rizal said the maiden flight of the jet plane will be served by Garuda Indonesia with the Denpasar-Bandung and Bandung-Denpasar routes on August 14, 2026.

Furthermore, Rizal said that the optimization of Husein Sastranegara Airport is expected to provide a better travel experience for passengers while supporting tourist visits to West Java.

"The optimization of flights at Husein Sastranegara Airport will deliver travel and welcome tourists with the best facilities and services, as well as equipped with a modern atmosphere that blends with West Java culture," he said.

In terms of facilities, InJourney Airports ensures that the airport terminal is ready for use. In the departure area, there are 26 check-in counters, self check-in kiosk machines, and passenger and baggage inspection facilities at the security check point (SCP).

The boarding lounge area has also been prepared, including a number of commercial tenants. Passengers can also use the coworking space and kids zone facilities available in the area.

Meanwhile, in the arrival area, there are three conveyor belt units and public transport outlets to make it easier for passengers to order public transportation services.

The available public facilities include six mosques, 22 toilets, two escalators, and three elevators. InJourney Airports also ensures that the safety facilities in the terminal have met the operational needs of jet flights.
